When I was little, we lived in a small town where my Mom stayed at home with us and Dad walked to work. I remember going to the library, and going to play at friends’ houses while my Mom and her friends drank tea and chatted (or was that whiskey? Just kidding). Sometimes they did crafty things. Sometimes there were snacks. I didn’t pay too much attention to all of that because of course we thought it was about US. I suppose it was, but later my Mom told me that they had a standing weekly play date for their own sanity—because sometimes the only humans she’d interact with for days on end were her children during the day and my Dad in the evenings. When I had Evan last year, I was really focused on him and myself for a while, but then I realized that I don’t have any real friends or support system here in LA. It’s no small town, that’s for sure! I mean, I can definitely make a call and find a play date… and I can usually arrange it somewhere convenient so we can avoid the horrible traffic. But the truth is, it’s still kind of isolating to be a Mom.
Obviously I love wellness and essential oils, so I wanted to create a Mama Tribe where we can just be Moms together and share what we have in common.

The purpose is to connect with other women who are at the same point in life, who value wellness, and who love to chat about it with others! We can share ideas, info and experiences, and figure out how to integrate essential oils with our families. It takes a village to raise a child, but I think it also takes a tribe to support the mamas!
Sometimes the Internet makes connections with people less personal, even though it has the potential to do the opposite. Joining this tribe gives us an opportunity to connect with people we have things in common with, rather than just connecting with people who live close by.
