Hello Again
Here’s the basic recipe for gummies, fruit snacks, etc. You can use juice, tea, coffee, or other liquid (it also works with creamy ingredients, like add some coconut oil if you like!).
Gummies
2 cups liquid
1/2 cup plain gelatin powder
sweetener to taste (I like maple syrup best!)
Directions: Add two cups of liquid and the sweetener to a pan on the stove. Heat the liquid to boiling, then pour in the gelatin gradually. Stir, and let it reach a rolling boil—it’ll look frothy. Add the other cup of water (it should be room temp or cold), and remove the pan from the heat. The froth will disappear. Stir, pour into a baking dish or mold, put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes or in the freezer for 10 minutes (or so). They will stay “gummy” out of the fridge, but I like them better cold!
Have you jumped on the gelatin bandwagon yet? This stuff will definitely stay in my kitchen… well, you know, unless something weird happens! So far, the results have been great, and no bad side effects… I’ll share the margarita gummies recipe soon–I need to perfect the measurements (usually I just eyeball it and taste as I go!).
